Hong Kong Outstanding Students Award 2023-24

We are delighted to announce the wonderful news that our student 6B YAN Wan Yee Vanis was chosen as one of just 10 winners of the Hong Kong Outstanding Students Award. One of the most recognized and prestigious awards for secondary school students in Hong Kong, it aims to identify exceptional students who demonstrate outstanding academic performance, extracurricular involvement, community service achievements, and social awareness.

In order to win, Vanis went through a rigorous selection process, from an application entered by hundreds of secondary school elite students to a final interview attended by 20 finalists. To make this shortlist, Vanis first had to attend a written test in which 64 shortlisted candidates were invited to a 2-day-1-night assessment and training camp to judge candidate’ interpersonal skills and leadership abilities. After the camp, 41 finalists were invited to join a sharing session to share about what they have learnt. At last, 20 finalists were invited to a final interview. Vanis stood out and became one of the 10 Outstanding Students of the year.

In the school, Vanis is an outstanding student who is wise beyond her years and with the courage to match. She performs exceptionally in both academic disciplines and extra-curriculum activities such as scouting. She was the TWGHs Student Ambassador in 2023-2024 and received the 1st runner-up in the TWGHs Student of the Year. She is an inspiration to us all, one who remains humble, grounded and focused on serving the community.
