S.1 Cheung Chau Adventure Day

On 18 November 2023, all S.1 students participated in the S.1 Cheung Chau Adventure Day with the Peer Group leaders. All Peer Group leaders had visited Cheung Chau to prepare for the Adventure Day one week before. The activity was jointly organized by Peer Group Guidance and school social workers. It aimed at improving their social skills and emotional quotient that would facilitate a smooth transition from primary to junior secondary education.
S.1 students and their peer group leaders faced various challenges at the assigned checkpoints, such as exploring Cheung Po Tsai Cave. Each group set goals and planned their routes. Students were delighted to share their feelings and views once they managed to accomplish all the tasks. Assistance rendered by Peer Group leaders is a witness of service learning, which is promoted as one of the essential learning experiences for all S. C. Gawers.
